My name is Chris. I am new to this forum. I have a 1977 Chevrolet pickup with a 350 4bbl, sm465 trans,3.73 gear ratio, 8 leaf rear springs, along with 265/70r17 E rated tires, and i have the large diameter brakes on the rear. this was set up as a Farmer special when I bought it. I have pulled small trailers with this truck before and no problems at all. I am looking to pull a trailer at around 26' to 28' with this truck and I am reading that it can handle as much as 9500 lbs . I would be looking at placing a sway bar on the rear axle, along with having trailer brake controller installed and a weight equalizing hitch. Any suggestions would be helpful. Thank You.
