Hello all! New to the website, but always loved the squarebodies (dad retired from GM). I’m sort of in a predicament. I currently have a 1969 Camaro 350SS (not original), which I’ve owned for 3 years now. The paint is Hugger Orange with white stripes. It runs fantastic and is in good shape. This has been my dream car for a long time, but I’m kind of wanting something that I can drive more frequently. The Camaro is an attention getter and I can’t drive it to work like I could a squarebody.

Since I can’t have two cars in my garage currently, I’m thinking that a K5 or Jimmy would be great to have. I would actually drive it way more and I have four kids that would love the removable top. I would guess the Camaro to be worth $32k, which I think could find a decent squarbody with some room for improvements.

I just want to get some people’s take on this situation.

32k for a square? Mine is worth at least 45, but I'd sell it to you for 40. Yea it's only been rolled once, and each cylinder has at least 80 psi (practically no wear).

$40k Ferum

But seriously you could get one hell of a truck for that money it depends on if you want a full on restomod daily driver, or just a nice original truck.

At least around here, you could get something with nice paint and a newer drivetrain for under $10k.

Appreciate the reply. I would definitely try to find something that needs little work. Four kids definitely doesn’t give me any time to work on it much.

Not about to tell you what to do. But I have been there. Had a 69 Chevelle convertible. Sold it. Have regretted it every day since. Have had a bunch of cool cars over the years but the Chevelle and a 57 Chevy truck are ones I regret selling. Fortunately my brother bought the 57 20 years ago. It’s back at my place now so I can do some work on it for him. I do intend to buy it back when the opportunity presents it self. Like when I tell him how much the work he wants done is going cost. All I am saying is think long and hard before selling your Camaro.

Regret is definitely my biggest concern. What do you have now? Hope you get the Chevelle back sooner than later.

WOW 32k to spend on a K5? At that price, it better not need any improvement! !;):p
