Hello everyone! Long story short, a friend of mine doesn't have a lot of time left so I decided to buy and finish this 1976 K20 with crate 400, 69k miles on odometer. It's my first 400 ever so there will be questions. She needs a lot of love but he gave me a decent head start. Only rust is from battery acid on the fender.A lot of parts are off and in the garage but they do exist and in great condition. First thing on the list is getting new gas tanks ( my spider sense just tells me it ll be better than trying to clean them out). I am going to scout threw forum see what people have to say about best way how to do it and will stay in touch. Appreciate the add gang!

I am 65 years old and dropped the tanks on my 82 in the driveway this summer from below. Not that difficult with ramps or Jack stands. I also thought about buying new tanks but after dropping them and seeing no rust or damage I just cleaned them and reinstalled with no issues. Pulling the bed by myself was not an option. I can drop a tank, change the sending unit assembly and reinstall it in about three hours complete. I also haven’t put a wrench on a car in about 30 years till I bought my 82 as a retirement present this year.
