Hello from South Louisiana

In an effort to reclaim my long lost youth I purchased the last of the Square Body GMs, a decent '87 V10. I grew up driving a 1977 GMC Sierra Grande and a 1984 Chevy Blazer and always wanted to get back into a square body. When GM put TBI on top of the 350 in 1987 I was 17 years old and I wanted one so badly I would have done anything to own one. Now, I am old but that feeling never went away so I finally bought one.

I look forward to learning from this community and possibly contributing a bit from time to time.

Now if I can only figure out how to post pics...

Thanks guys. I have to learn a little bit about how to post pics better on this forum, I think a decent pic helps tell a story or explain an issue better.

This truck had just 56K original miles when I bought it last year and is in relatively decent shape. My son and I have been slowly improving it, trying to get it back to a semi-original condition. My goal is to have it very close to original spec but with period correct modifications. In other words, I want it to be what it would have been if I could have owned it back in 1987 and had the money to build it correctly.

Like I said, I grew up driving a 4wd square body GMC. I spent a lot of time looking for a decent 4wd with the SM465 "granny" 4 speed manual. Shifting this old truck is...therapeutic.
