Hello from New England!
I'm the original owner of this 1983 K10 P/U which I custom ordered.
My girlfriend was with me the day I drove the truck off the lot 42 years ago and now she's my wife. I kid her I'll never forget the year we met thanks to that 1983 chevy
It lived part of its life in Upstate NY (Rochester) and the rest in Norther MA but I've been pretty good at keeping the salt off.
Fun stuff: 4:11 gears, Edelbrock cam and intake manifold, 1.5" add-a-leaf lift kit. I was able to install nice low gears thanks to the overdrive manual 4speed trans.
Back in 1983 they were castrating these trucks with tall gears and low horsepower engines allegedly for better fuel mileage but it just caused me to burn thru clutches like crazy. 4.11's cured that.
Still has the original rotors (they don't make them like they used to!)
It lives a pretty good life hauling firewood and plowing with occasional trips to the local dump and ice cream stand.
Great forum here lots of good advice!
