Hello from LA (Lower Alabama)

Hello all, Thanks for allowing me to join. I picked up an 86 Scottsdale. I have not laid eyes on it other than these pictures. I will not have the VIN till later next week. The price was on point now I have to go get her. This will be a frame off build. My goal is 1 ton axels and 44’s. Going to keep it old school no huge wheels and low profile tires. I have waited and planned for this. This will be my second square body build. My first one was an 85 Blazer. 6 inch lift and 35’s and a weak 305. I learned my lesson the hard and wasteful expense way on that one. Tell me what ya think, like I said I have not laid eyes on it just secured it. Oh yea I am 55 and this is the second big truck I have built in the last two years. My wife believes that I am nuts.

Y'all got some work ahead of you there, son.....

All the work will go much easier if you blast Drive-by Truckers in your shop/garage all the time. Even though they are from north AL, songs like "Daddy's Cup" and "Zip City" really make the work a joy.

When people say "South Alabama" they are usually referring to the college in Mobile named the University of South Alabama. Lower Alabama is usually referred to as Mobile and Baldwin counties also known as the Redneck Riviera.
