Hello all, anyone know how to verify a Spirit of 76' model?

Seems to be a lot of confusion and after talking to two other owners there is no specific option code. Does anyone have a sure fire way to positively identify one? I am on my way right now to try and buy one.

I do not remember seeing one for myself, but I'm fairly certain I've seen pictures online showing a specific option for it listed on the SPID in the glovebox.

Looks like the option #126E NDW1 Blue/white Knit is for the specific seat cover and should confirm if the Vin Matches.

The first digit of "1" is not part of the option code though. So it would simply be "26E".

I'm not sure the purpose of the extra digit that is often seen. It just depended on the factory maybe? @Keith Seymore can probably shed some light on it. Or maybe I'm just full of crap and talking out of my ass, lol. But I'm fairly certain that the "1" is not actually included in any of the option codes.

You are correct.*

It was used to further define the RPO code during the '67-72 era, but fell into disuse.

For us it is simply a placeholder, or a "dummy" digit. Some final assembly locations did away with it altogether.
