Headlight Harness Upgrade Problems

I'm saying that you should have zero ohms between the body ground and the light ground.
There are many grounds but 3 major, battery to frame, battery to body and battery to engine.

Is your dimmer switch on the floor or turn signal stalk?

I've had 2 of that type go bad. I'd take the time to meter it out before throwing $$ at it.
