@Scott91370 As you can see from my headlight socket install I'm more than capable of making my own headlight relay "kit". I knew when I bought the LMC kit that it would not be as good as something I could make, but I only have so much time. And I thought $30 it seemed like a good deal at the time. Then I started to read about the relay issues and since I was happy with the headlights after the bucket change I've just never gotten around to it. I think saying "with not much more time that it takes to install a kit", I think that depends on how far the installer goes. If I soldered and shrink wrapped all the connections I'm sure I could put quite a bit more time into it than it would take it install a kit.

I think that for me the answer is just to continue running it though the headlight switch as I have been since I'm happy with the lights like this.
