Headers Suggestions ‘85 K30

It’s time to put a fresh exhaust on my 1985 K30 that plays nice with the 454 and SM465 transmission. I am thinking of selling the truck and the leaky exhaust is probably the biggest issue it has. Even if I don’t sell the truck it’ll just be that much nicer.

What headers would you guys recommend that most closely mimic the stock manifold length? I’m also open to other headers that do not drop below the frame. Low cost is always nice!

I'll be dropping a 454 in my 82 c10 soon and I've got LT Camaro headers. It's lowered and they shouldn't hang too low. The 454 and headers came out of a 84 c10 long bed and he said they weren't hanging too low. There's a ton of threads on this too. Search and you'll find a lot on this topic. Hope this helps.

My neighbor put new headers on his '84 within the last couple years and he said he *loves* them, mentioned that he only paid like a hundred bucks for them? I'll see if I can catch him and ask where they came from.

I've got two trucks now with Camaro/Chevelle/Nova type headers that clear great and don't hang low. However, they are 2wd and automatic. But I've got 4x4 trucks around here too, as well as a hydro bell housing. If it will help, I can try to gauge some clearances for you.

Not me but my buddy has the Hooker headers, and he seems to be happy. He's running a 454.

I run Sanderson shorties, they fit perfect and don't hang low. They aren't cheap though.
