I have a 91' C1500 which was converted to a k35 ..
it has in the front the massive Dana 60 4 bolt bJ with 4.1
rear has the 14bolt FF Auburn locker... it has all new spring packs all the way around...is the a measurement at the wheel that i can go by to figure my lift amount..this conversion was done right. Carbed454-400 turbo-205 tc-all new custom DrvShfts..
Love this monster but i would like to run 36-37 on the truck..

A pic would help a lot, and what size tires are on it now. Most of us could guess within an inch or 2 how much higher than stock it is or what size tires you could run.

thats what it looks like to me..when it was done a place here made all the springs and the owner told them he wanted hvy duty and big enough for 35"..now i have 33x12.50x16.5..yes 16.5..i bought a set of brand new GMC 16.5x9.0 wheels..so i found a place on line that X military tires like 36x12.50x16.5 and can get a very good price. But dont want to order them and have to cut the body..thats not happening will carve up this almost rust free Burabn

If those are 33" tires then that is deff a 4" lift. I have 6" and fit 35s or 37s.

Do not run military tires if you plan on going on the highway and DD this thing. Been there done that bad idea. There is a reason they are so cheap, because they suck!

OK ...so im thinking it ended up being about a 4" lift..now it has no blocks it is all spring.I really want to run 35's for a little less hiway RPM..but 87Scotty i found that place you speak of and one more with good reviews. The tires are 36 E rated radial tires like 85/90% tread AND they are 16.5 which everyone tells me i should dump..But i wanted a TRUE 1 ton and back in the day 1 tons ran 16.5s so i bought a set of GM white steelies..I just dont think its tall enough for the 36's...

Anybody running 35's on a 4" ish lift..the nice thing about this was the use of GMC leaf spring mounts all the way around,no short cuts with a wunky shackle only mount..this thing drives so straight down the hi way..so i do not want to FUBAR that trying to cram a tire under it that doesnt fit..

Those factory wide 16.5's are awesome! I'd also want to run the military 36's, they wear well and have a good classic look to them.

wow I ran 2 completely different sets of 37" military OZ tires both of them were a huge pain to balance out and my truck vibrated over 30mph very badly.

Hay Bob. Wtg, looks cool. Easy 4 inch if it's not 6. No? How do the driveshafts look? 4 is a common SUSPENSION LIFT.
"Go advanced" and hit the paperclip to ez add pics. It'll be tough to add too many. :pedobear:
