I know so many parts are interchangeable on square bodies, but looking to see what all is needed to put a 78 electronic oil pressure gauge in my 76. Unsure if it will connect to the back plate, or can I jyst get a 78 backplate to bolt in. Then I'm hoping all pins from harness are the same.
So, anyone have any insight for me?

Any specific reason to change? Mechanical gauge is better.

History of leaks in the line. Not in the same spot. Just cursed.

Get a new line? Preferably copper line. You'll be into it way less money and labor. You'll then most likely have a way more accurate gauge.
