I've never had issues with a Sun Pro Taxh ll either. Did also compare them for accuracy with my Volt/Ohm meter and they were always within 50rpms or right on at 2000rpm.

As a tach being mounted externally I’d have no problem trying it. But mounting them into the dash that usually takes a little work to get to, I wouldn’t use them. However, I haven’t used them in over 5 years. Maybe the quality has gone up. I can attest that auto meter has gone down. Maybe they’ve met in the middle LOL.

So I ordered some dummy lights. Reading a bunch of reviews about gauges. I have a buddy that parts out boats all the time. Will gauges from a boat work with everything. I am going to use electric oil pressure gauge.

Sure, they will work. What's more important about electric gauges is to make sure you have the correct sending units so they read accurate.

The tach sticks out farther than I thought, but it was cheap and made in USA.

The sending unit needs to match the gauge. You need to find what ohms this one operates at and get the sender that suits it. Looks like that one is made by auto meter. Might work with your factory sender or maybe call autometer and ask.

Ah. So what is normal way that someone figures out what gauges to install in square bodies?

I looked at the hilift jack mounts but couldn't find any that lock. I made these today. I can put a pad lock on mount through the jack. Best part is I used scrap metal and cost a whopping freehundred dollars.
