Good morning, y'all. Last Sunday I took ownership of a '76 K5. It's definitely a work in progress, but I can drive him around once in a while. This is my second square body, but I haven't owned one in 21 years.
My first was a '76 K10 long bed step side, 250 I6, manual, in that beautiful yellow green. I got it in high school, and in my ignorance, let my parents sell it a while after I joined the military.
My K5 originally had a 400 4bbl, Cheyenne package, but now she runs a 350 2bbl. My two biggest areas of concern are that two owners ago, the rear diff was geared to 3.73, but the front remained a 3.08. So, it's been driven unknown miles in Hi Lock on the NP203 with no front drive shaft.
Also, the guy I bought it from replaced the parking brake cable, pads&rotors, drums&shoes, and bled the brakes multiple times, but the brake light remains on, and it never stops never stopping...
There are other things going on, but I'm very happy to be back in a Square Body.
Cheers to everyone else on forum, and to the other new members.
