Hi so my trucks box is pretty much junk it’s a wood floor that’s pretty much gone one bolt came loose on a bump and the rust has gotten to it pretty good. I was thinking to flat bed it but then I got a idea that would be like the best of both a box and flat bed almost it might look a bit weird but not sure would like a few more opinions on it you would cut the bed just before the wheel well and everything after that would be flat bed but In front of that it would still be truck box in the picture everything in white is flat bed and the red line where you cut it. Just not sure about it before I really commit to it

If you like it, it’s your truck so who cares and if the bed is junk anyways nothing is lost except some time.
But beyond that? Doesn’t seem like it would be attractive and you would ruin the integrity of the bed so it would be a floppy mess that required a bunch of additional support added.

Ohh, I love playing with designs… :)
How about more of an angle, with some rad tail lights in the capped ends?

Theres one around here that they did something similar to that to, kind of looks like a 5th wheel RV bed / pickup bed cross. I'll keep an eye out for it and see if I can get a picture.

I think it would look better if you transitioned it instead of cutting straight down….then you could chop the top off, put a boat windshield on it and paint a snake on the side..because pic related needs a Chevy answer.

Yeah that’s true nothing to loose if I do it
Yeah would definitely require some kind of bracing at the back but might be temporary tell I find I nice used bed for it. And just for fun to

Haha yeah transitioning it would definitely look better but it’s super rusted out around the wheel wells and behind but maybe haha

Ahh I got it, maybe if there was enough of the ends left you could weld them to the bed left over and put the tailgate on…make like a bedlet you could put a fuel tank or toolbox or something in…..I dunno it might look weird though
