Hey all, Ive been poking around looking for a rebuild kit for my 1974s Gmc k2500 rear end. I need all bearings and seals. Whats the best bang for my buck? Do not need ring and in pinion gear.

You’ll have to get wheel seals and hub bearings and races separately.I honestly believe it’s easier to remove the axle assembly from the truck.I installed the new internals minus the hubs and axle shafts, then man handled it back under the truck.

i got a dial indicator, shop press and digital caliper from harbor freight for 130-140$.Now would be a good time to install a traction device (no spin).

I’m about to do this on my 1980 K25. I got a Yukon Grizzly locker and a rebuilt kit locally for $350 from a guy that bought everything to rehear an axle and then never did it. I also got all new brake pads, wheel bearings/races, brake hardware kits, and parking brake hardware from rock auto because if I’m already going to be in there I might as well do it all at once. It hasn’t been redone since AT LEAST 2006 (if ever), so I figured I might as well. You’ll need to look at your brake drums to figure out which size you have, mine were the 13” drums, so the part numbers may or may not be the same as your axle
