I want to eventually run some headers and duals but try and keep it very quiet somehow. I found some places online that sell fake cats. I might go that route if I go to duals. I just don't want the noise.

I wouldnt do duals on a blazer or Burb(again),unless 4 mufflers are used, like I did 2 inline on each side on my TPI setup, and I guarentee one on each side would be a Super Turbo, and no bigger than 2.25 on the pipe size.
SUV's interiors are like echo chambers already, and you have to be really careful on what you choose...especially if you are prone to migranes.
That single 3" you have now is perfect.

3 chamber flowmasters are pretty "quite", i like being loud so i usually go with the 2 chamber 40's... fake cats huh? should still pass smog if youre running clean right? or would you be swapping em every time you need smog?

It takes all kinds of tricks right now to pass it through. They usually figure a way out to get it to pass like pull vac lines and some other stuff. I figure that is the original cat on it now and it's got to be beat, so I wouldn't mind trying it just so it's there for sight inspection. And usually id I don;t over do it with the mileage I am exempt from the sniffer under 5K a year.

Yeah, I am just thinking out loud but I will just roll with what I have. I am on borrowed time right now with the manifolds. Where the y pipe bolts on at those connections is pretty rusted and beat up, not leaking, but I am waiting for something to pop open. I really need to get a spare set ready to sit on the shelf so when that happens I can just slap them on. I think my pass side one has a small crack too on the rear port.

Really the main thing that pisses me off is the driver's side exit. ***** always blowing in my face trying to hook the boat up and launch it and retrieve it. I don't want it out the back, that would be even worse, and I don;t trust those old barn door seals, lol. I really wish it was a pass side exit. I might slap a flapper on it or a down turn tip to blow the **** towards the ground.

Or maybe set of stacks......:Moon:

Any exhaust shop could move that outlet to the other side for you...shouldnt cost a lot to do it.
Ifmyou put a fake cat on, it will just get worse...no matter what side the outlet is on.
The Dorman Manifolds I got from summit have turned out to be really good, especially since i didnt need to use the gaskets...nice and flat to the head.
As far as the Y pipe....$104 or so from walker, but you could probably shop around and find a better price.

How with the fuel tank back there? I figured I would need a pass side exit Y pipe and chit.

went out to fire up the truck for the first time in a year and all i got was a click. figured the battery was dead, checked it and it had 12.6... tightened the battery posts up and got another click and then dead. turned out to be my neg cable, i had it grounded on the alternator bracket but the bolt was loose and had been painted, so i fixed that, moved the dizzy a little advanced and dumped some more gas in,,, fired right up! let it idle for a sec, sounded good and then realized i hadnt hooked up the brake booster to the back of the carb. lmao. still idled nice with that huge vacuum leak lol... looking good and its running again after a year!

Good job man. I had to tighten my cables up, they loosened up from all the damn potholes here. I hate those side terminal setups.

so i got all the old smog stuff plugged up... those tubes that come up off the manifold were blowing exhaust out on the drivers side. sounds way better now.
a problem popped up of course, lower radiator hose is leaking so ill have to pull it off again. sounds like the passinger sidwe manifold has an exhaust leak, could have been tweeked when the front drive shaft smashed into it...
still need a tranny dip stick, ujoints on both drive lines, brakes need bleeding and then its shake down time... getting close

They would just run it the same way as ifnyou were running a dual outlet muffler, just minus the drivers side pipe. Theres a lot of room tonrun that pipe up and over the axle in front of the tank.

I want a big old black stack pipe bolted to the back corner with a rain flapper on it. :grd:

You could call them many things, some would give them more credit than they desire.
