1988 Suburban 4X4. All of the gauges quit in the last 30 miles of a 1000 mile trip which was fortunate. Also the buzzer that sounds if lights are left on etc started sounding off and won't quit. I replaced the circuit board and no improvement. Any suggestions will be appreciated.

Welcome to GMSB. See you've met our buddy Dave already.

So when you say circuit board, are you refering to the gauge cluster? I'd certainly consider the connector to the cluster. How about the dash lights? Do they keep working when the gauges quit working???

Check the gauges fuse. I am not very familiar with the 1988 wiring, it doesn't have an electric speedo or I'd suggest that the wires got pinched some how.

I recently had the same thing happen in my 1991 S10, the gauges quit, the alternator wasn't charging, the headlight chime was sounding off and what happened was the speedo wires had gotten pinched in the transfer case shifter and was blowing the gauges fuse.

Welcome to the boards. Check the buzzer connector on the column, it piggybacks power from the instruments.

I'm thinking RedBurban jumped on the boat, and shortly went overboard. I've sent him messages and he hasn't been back. Might be one of those that comes in gets help, then never hear from them again. If so, he'll be back when something else breaks.
