Fuel lines.

Alright I don't know if I'm in the right place or not. I have an 87 v20 with tbi and I can't find fuel lines anywhere and I was just gonna run ptfe line. Has anyone done this and can tell me exactly what I need. Thank you in advanced.

I've looked in there multiple times the don't really have anything for 87

You want something that is rated for handling fossil fuels/solvents.
Plus, any time you run hose; you want it to be as short as possible.
You don't want to become a 'car-b-que'.

“PTFE has supreme chemical resistance and will not break down even after years of use with methanol. Regular rubber (EDM or NBR, which is what almost all fuel lines are made from) begins to break down even before one year wreaking havoc on your fuel delivery system and injector nozzles. Rubber hoses can even begin to leak or spray fuel, which can be pretty dangerous.”

Take a look at the SAE J30R9 specification for EFI fuel hose. It’s rubber hose, but designed to hold up to modern fuel and fuel pressures. Much pricier than the old rubber hose, but should hold up a lot better. Most parts stores have it by the foot, but online sources are cheaper.

Also remember that the long runs of fuel line are already metal, with the longest rubber line being the ones connecting the tank solenoid to the sending units.

The SAE J30R9 fuel hose uses a fluoro elastomer inner liner that will withstand up to 180 psi and 300 degrees. It is approved for all fuel blends including straight methanol, and the outer coating is also ozone- and abrasion-resistant. It's way cheaper than PTFE stuff and easier to work with.

Which lines are you replacing? Just the short braided ones. Or has something happened to your steel lines?
