You can paint whitewalls on.. they had a machine back in the day to do it.. I think it looks kinda cool kinda more of a rat rod look..

Or you could just go with some cool looking raised white letters and call it good enough. Which is better IMO. Only way I'd want white walls is if I was restroring an old 50-60's vehicle that had them as an OEM option.

some shaving and new(used) wheels

Got rid of the factory wheels. Added a mirror from a 1975 Opel Gr and got some wheels off CL tow 200. Not totally happy with the tire size but they are basically brand new. I will get something higher and wider later.

Hey, that looks great! Those are T/A wheels aren't they? How thick are the adapters?

1" I have to get a bigger tire for the rear. The front looks pretty good but the back has way too much open well.

Those wheels look amazing! They are Trans/Am or Firebird rims? I think the color combo with your truck is what sets it off. Nice find. I do think a little taller/meatier tires would make it perfect, but you are smart to run what you have for the time being. Mirror looks good too!

I dunno, I think it looks pretty good as it is. What's on there now, a 235/55 or a 245/50?

Your truck is looking good! I love lowered square body trucks! I have owned two of them, and got TONS of attention when I drove them. Of course, back then, lowering a full size Chevy was rather taboo. Some of the attention I got was negative, but for the most part, everyone loved them. Here is a pic of my 86 that I had back in 2000. I miss it every day.

HotRodPC: I have a 1980 Big 10 that came with OEM option whitewalls. It hasn’t been driven for 36 years, and these are the original tires. Part of me feels obligated to put new whitewalls on her. What do you think?
