First Build

Hows it going fellas. I recently purchased a C10, 82 or 83, stepside short bed. It is in pretty poor shape but has been in the family since new. Been sitting for 10+ years but all in all pretty straight. Came with a manual but swapped to an auto sometime during its life. Still has the factor 250 I6 in it but that will change soon. I dont even have the truck home yet but am currently working that issue. I am sure i will have lots and lots of questions so bear with me please. My plans include some kind of LS engine with a 4l60 auto trans. Daily driver (my sons first truck, he is 10 now so we have plenty of time) A pretty straight forward resto, lower the rear end to make it level, some 20s and wide tires and fresh paint. The first steps of my build are going to be getting it home, strip the body off and get it primed and placed into storage. Then start going thru brakes, suspension and steering. Once this is complete ill start putting together my engine/trans combo. Hopefully i can be of some help around here because im positive you guys will help me a bunch. Thanks, Pics to come soon

Ok, but consider a 4L80/E instead of the 4L60/E I'm kind of pissed at the 60 in my Yukon that failed suddendly and catastrphically with no warning. And welcome to the site!!

He may, but when I inquired about the controller and other stuff, his brother was interested in it, so it may be gone by now.
