After 2 years of searching I finally found an original Hickey set up for my K10. it was in Denver and straight as an arrow but it did take a some blasting and priming to smooth out.

In my opinion nothing looks like Hickey, who made all the accessories for GMC Desert Fox and the Rockford Files pickup as well. I had a new one on order but the poor guy who brought Hickey back to life was killed in a car wreck before he got it made for me so I went back to searching.

Anyway I got it painted today and I'll post pictures one it's installed.

Not a big collection by any means but am eclectic one for sure . I like them all that's my problem. I've had all of them except the K10 for some time, the Challenger for 30 years.

I like that color combo...
Hickey used to be located in Ventura CA. and they had a demo Suburban which was used for R&D and shows. The push bar below is from that Suburban.
The owner wanted to sell the whole SUV which had other demo parts but I passed, it's probably still there.

I know this is an old thread, but would any of you be able to help with some general dimensions on the Hickey setups for the 73-80 trucks? I'm looking to fabricate one for my '80 k20, and want to get it as close to this design as possible.
I would need:
-Tube diameters,
-headlight opening dimensions
-grille opening dimensions
-overall width (outside to outside)
-spacing of the large tubes in the center.
-length of large tubes

Looks like a Ford High Country, a J10 Golden Eagle, and a 70 Challenger R/T S/E 440 SixPack

If I was gonna go that far, I'd just build a kick @$$ bumper and brush guard. Just a thought, no offense.

Tubes
Lg. dia = 3"
Lg. tube spacing = 8.5" on center,(suggest 9 or 9.5" for bigger lights)
Tube Length = truck frame width ~29.25".

Sm. dia. =1.25"
Opening dims. (on center)
Lg. W10.5 x H12.5" - 2"R
Sm. W11.5 x H10. 5" - 3"R
Overall length = 74"
Plate material= .375"
The assembly consists of 4 parts, a center push bar, two side frames and a 1.25" bar at the top. The top bar is retained by pins welded to the plates of the side frames.
I'm not 100% but the side frame bolts are likely 5/8" UNC.

I took pictures but the attach feature isn't working.
HTH..

This is a tangent, but if anyone has the mechanical specs for the Hickey front truss, that would be appreciated.
I could probably design something but starting with an existing design would help.
