Hey all. been shopping for a Square Body for a longtime and finally found one worth spending a little money on. It's an 83 Silverado and it is going to be a bitchin ride (hopefully soon).

I will be posting picks and project updates on my sober days.
Stay tuned!!!

Thanks all for the warm welcome.
I joined this forum because, after looking for about 16 months, I found a square body that fit both my needs and my ability to turn it into something nice to drive. I call her the "Big Red Dog", a 1983 Silverado long bed C10. I live in south Louisiana and found the truck in Tennesee. I spoke with the owner by phone every couple of days for about two weeks and then agreed to go see it. A friend happened to have a meeting about two hours from where the truck was and gave a ride to it.

This is my third square body so I know where they are weak, I looked it over and drove it around for about 10 minutes, made him an offer and we shook on it. I followed him in the "Dog" to city hall and we did the paperwork. About six minutes later, as I was following him to the highway, the water pump went (like all at once). We stopped at a NAPA, I bought about $100 of tools and $250 of parts (you know how reasonable NAPA is for stuff) and we went back to his house. I changed the pump under his car port and using some of his tools. He felt real bad but I told him I didn't think he was scamming me. So, I leave on my 18(?)hr. drive home and in the middle of the night the headlights quit. I drove 38 miles in the dark to the next motel and checked in till morning. No more issues getting home.

Anyway, since getting home I get about 3 to 5 hrs some weeks to work on the truck. I am posting some picks of when I igot the truck and will post the work I do on the Dog.

Thanks for reading.
