New guy here. I know this is an extremely old thread, but I couldn't find anything else.
These are really useful pics, thanks, but knowing that the passenger side sits in a slightly different position, anyone have those measurements? Thanks in advance

I still need to put the suport rods inside my doors, but not clear as to how they mount, and if theres a piece of flat metal for support as well inside the door. My truck originally had the tow mirrors, but were basically ripped off of the doors

Thanks for the welcome. That was my goal to put them in an original position. Mine must have come from the factory with sport mirrors and the holes aren't there.

I just went and measured my '85. The pass side is just a smidge further back, the front edge of the driver's mirror is like 6 7/8" from the front of the door and the pass side is right at 7"

Couple more measurements, driver's mirror center is ~ 10 3/8"

Pass is a shallow 10 1/2"

If I were installing a fresh set and drilling holes, I'm make them even. It's the angle of the mirror that really changes from side to side so you can see out of them both, the pass side angles further back
