Possibly to your hvac. But usually it has a black and gray wire to that pigtail. The pink and yellow must be of some importance

If it’s a California car it could be the check engine light?
Does it come on and go out when you start the car or just with the lights

Stays on all the time when key is on
Shuts off with key

If the light doesn't go out, that's because it is a high gas price warning light. They've been stuck on since 1973
So, when the light goes out, you are out of gas?

I looked this up on a wiring diagram and...yellow with pink/black is for a Water In Fuel warning light. That sounds like something for a 6.2 Diesel to me.
On a second diagram it is for a Check Engine light.
