Hey folks, I have a newbie question here. I've installed new headers onto my SBC 350 (https://www.summitracing.com/parts/HOK-2453HKR?feedback=1), and am connecting the new exhaust pipe (https://www.summitracing.com/parts/HOK-16528HKR).

The header ends have the 3-bolt smooth flange. The exhaust pipe has a lip, and loose 3-bolt flange. And then it came with gaskets.

So assuming I need to put the metal flange on outside of pipe and connect to headers to pull the lip in to mate, but not sure where the felt-type gasket goes. Does it go between pipe lip and flange? This is how I have it pictured here. Or completely in between rounded pipe and header service? See pic that I think is right, but that's why I'm asking. Thanks!

The gasket goes between the pipe lip and the exit of the header. So the gasket seals the pipe to the header and then the flange clamps it all tight.

Yup.
Gasket goes between the header collector and the exhaust pipe flanged lip.

When I do mine up soon, I plan on using these Header Buddy gizmos...

I saw a youtube video where a feller used them and they look to be a nifty idea.

Dude... I had no idea these things existed. Those looks WAY better than trying to do flange to flange with that stupid gasket that always leaks if you don't get the exhaust perfectly square.

I just learned of them last week.
It was on this episode of Square Body Stuff on the youtubes...

Thanks for the input folks. And cool video on the header buddies...I like that. I could only find 3" header buddies though, and the header collector I have is 2.5", so I'm going to go with a gasket first (correctly installed) and see what that does for me (particularly since the setup now is simply bolting up with no welding since it's already bent). I did read some good reviews on Remflex gaskets, so going to try that. Will post some pics when done.

Thanks!
