Engine oil cooler installation

One of my winter projects for my hunk of Junk is to install both a transmission oil cooler and also a engine oil cooler. Already have 2 Hayden 679's on the way and am now just getting stuff together. My question is this: where should the oil supply line come from and where should the oil return line go to? Somehow I feel I should know this but just want to double check and verify if my 3 functioning brain cells are still working properly. LOL Thanks in advance!

I just saw one of those on a Blazer that I was taking parts off of at the pick a part. Looked factory, unfortunately the oil cooler itself was trashed.

Do you know if it has a thermostat in it? I imagine it does, kinda need it would think..

Thanks for the link! Would much rather have GM original vs poorly machined aluminum Chinese junk. There's even a NOS in the box listed.

I don't think it does. I had mine off last summer but I didn't look real close at it.

Agreed. Another nice thing with OEM is you can get gaskets for it at the local parts peddlers.

Good thought there! Once I get the unit I'll know for sure, but judging by these pics of my engine on test stand during my build, I don't think there will be any problems with my BB and long tube Hookers!

My 89 had the factory oil cooler and headers plenty of room.

Jeff, if you grab that adapter ,be sure and keep the bolts. Some of the adapters have a different bolt.
