My stepson brought home an '86 or '87 K20. I mentioned this truck about a week ago regarding horsepower, and swapping it for my '86 C10's 331. I finally got a chance to see the block number to actually see what we have going on and it reads 9809900. Can't find this casting number to identify it. Any ideas on what it could be? I'm stumped. Thanks for your help in advance.

Sounds like a crate engine number. I don’t know as much about those. I know there’s people on here that can give you plenty of info on it or know where to look anyway. Hope you get the answers you’re looking for.

Read the number backwards and was missing a 1. It's a 350 4 bolt main. Thanks

Where did you find the info on it cause I haven’t found anything by looking up that number.
