if this is the cam your are speaking of then yes it would be a good one note you will have a smooth idling engine... No more race truck lope. Those flat cam lobes spell your 3 month problem out clear as day... kinda like I told you in that pm. I really wouldn't take a chance at not getting the heads rebuilt. 1. Those springs are prob worn out 2.valve or two might be gunked up and sticking.
