Can some one help me with figuring out what fender emblems belong on my 1973 K10 Short bed stepside.
Body work was done many years ago and the fender emblems were lost.

Dose anyone know how to decode the VIN to know what emblems belong on this truck

I think the easier way to figure it out is to look at a 73/74 brochure. Look up Dezos Garage. And check out the early- mid 70s pics. Then go on the hunt for what you want or something similar.
You’ll either luck upon some used OE ones from ….somewhere, or find some re-pops that are at least period correct ish. There are some 70s/80s fender badges being reproduced. But nowhere near all of them.

Trim level cannot be gotten from the VIN's for these trucks.

1973 trim levels were:
Custom
Custom Deluxe
Cheyenne
Cheyenne Super

No.

Trim level is not encoded in the VIN.

GM Heritage Center archives to not go back prior to '76/'77.

If the truck was built in Canada, or built in the US for Canadian consumption, then GM of Canada would have the build info: https://www.vintagevehicleservices.com/

Otherwise your only hope is to find a build sheet somewhere in the vehicle (behind the seat, under the carpet, under the dash pad, etc.

I like them better without the fender emblems anyway.
