The wiring connectors were horrible. In particular the main one that plugs into the underside of the cap (primary wiring to the coil). Other than that, I guess it was OK, except that the module it came with fried pretty quickly. It just wasn't a well made piece and I never trusted it.

One of the 100 or so nameless vendors on eBay. They all offer pretty much the same piece AFAIK. This was more than 10 years ago though.

Okay, so I got the distributor a couple days ago and sat down to take a good look at it this morning..

It has a connector on the side, but I don't have the connector..

Anyone know where I can get one?

I could just use individual spade connectors, but doing so would leave me open to accidentally reversing them some time in the future, and who knows what kind of havoc that might wreak..

I googled HEI distributor connectors and came up with a bunch....and a bunch overpriced. Summit had one for $10.

That's the wrong one.. That's the one that's already on the distributor and is wired to it's internals.. I need the other one that connects to the two tabs on the distributor to the electrical system of the truck... YOu can see them pretty clearly (no pun intended) in the second pic

Do you think that would be something that a NAPA auto parts would carry?

yeh all 4 of the big ones should carry it. I wouldn't pay the $40 autozone wants for it though. Advance Auto has it for $15. I used spade connectors when mine went bad. $15 is $15 bucks.

I used spade connectors when mine went bad. $15 is $15 bucks.

I would use spade lugs if I knew that getting them backwards would not harm the electronics of the dist...

I found them on eBay for 8 bucks, but I don't have enough money in my paypal account, and ebay screws things up when I try to use my credit card (The purchase fails and I get charged anyways, and good luck getting the money back while dealing with cust support that can barely speak english)

So, I'm probably going to have to spend the 15 bucks.. Way too much for what they are.. but it is what it is..
