I put a Holley carb in and it ran fine for awhile and the electric choke failed, I installed a new one and after running for 5 minutes or so it won't open up and stalls the engine. I have the wiring correct keyed power and a solid ground, Ive tried adjusting the choke but it doesn't make any difference. I made a huge mistake in buying a Holley (I don't like quadrajunk) but now that I'm stuck with it I have to fix it.

If 12 volts are at the choke thermostat it will open. Does it have power running? Is the ground intact?

Although I think Q jets run better on a GM a new Holley should be ok.

Do you have 12 volts at the choke wire after the engine starts? Did the carb you removed have an electric choke?
