Having just rolled over 48 with the DW, I've finally come to the conclusion that what you think she wants if so far out in left field it might as well be on the moon. Like Ted's beloved cats, women as a gender are, and always will be a complete mystery. You might want to ask your mom, her mom, or any other mature female family member what your next moves should be. The sobriety, job status and all the other "improvements" are a start for both of you, but talk with an experienced female to get your game plan mapped out.
