Hey guys,

I had plans on using drop Shackles on my Burban since I had done them before on my R10 but I discovered today as I was looking under the truck and saw the tub for the spare is smack-dab in the way of the bolts on the stock shackles so I can't see any way to pull out the bolts on the driver side. I really didn't want to do an axel flip cause I wasn't looking to go that low but I'm not seeing an alternative, any advice??? Thanks

interested in this as well... My 88 Burb has had leafs removed to lower and the axle tube is almost touching the bump stops. so needless to say, not much room between tube and frame.

Thanks, it was a pita removing the hanger rivets that GM used to attach them to the frame. Welding underneath any vehicle is not fun, especially when molten slag falls and burns through clothing

Nope....I did everything with the bed on. I had to plan ahead and double check all of the measurements. Luckily I have a lift.

I found that using a sawzall to flush cut the heads of the rivets first worked best. I used a air chisel with a pointed round tip to punch them throught the backside of the frame. Noisy, but quite effective.

Interesting, we've always ground the heads down then used the air chisel.

Are those u bolts and leaf plate specific for that kit? Just got my flip kit and was looking to get new u bolts and plate.

I just cross cut the head knock them pieces of with an air chisel and pop them out with a drift in my air hammer pointed ones work but will widen the shaft and make it harder to get them out and turns them into projectiles.

I am not 100 percent sure. I would think that as long as the leaf packs are the same width, it shouldn't matter. If both are 1/2 tons vehicles, probably the same.
