Folks I'm getting on up in years (80) and finding it more and more difficult to get into my 1990 V1500. Is there a way to lower the Suburban 2-4”. The rear has a block between the spring and axle but I can’t see any reasonable way to lower the front.

I would appreciate any suggestions if there is a economical way to do this.

Thanks, Steve

What your current lift, wheel and tire setup?

If it's the one in your profile picture, it definitely looks like it probably has a 2-4" lift up front and I'd assume the rear to match. You could put it back to stock but you'll also need smaller tires/possibly wheels depending on where you're at now.

That definitely looks like a 2 inch lift. You won't gain much by lowering and your lose your wheel and tire combo. I think some hoop steps are in order.

I know spring shops can re-arch springs and add leaf's to make lift springs from stock springs...

It's possible you could get a spring service to reduce the arch on your front spring to return it to stock height.

When I had my springs arched in 1997 it cost me $25 per spring for the labor and $50 for each leaf to make stock springs into 3.5" lift springs. I also paid about $10 for each U-bolt to have new ones made
