I did not know there were two different flare angles used on Japanese vehicles. Now I wonder how many times I botched that.
I wonder that myself. I got away with 45° flares on my Subaru GL Hardtop and Brat. I almost guarantee they were JIS... They worked.

Double flare, absolutely! And if you're new to doing it, practice on a scrap length of tubing. Very important for the freshly cut ends to be de-bured inside and out. There's probably several YouTube videos that will be worth watching. I'd search for something done by Master Power Brakes vs. some guy in a poorly-lit garage trying to take a video of himself. :(
