I'll be upgrading the doors to all electric in the spring. I'm having a hard time finding the relay and prefer not to get a used one from a junkyard. The doors and harness are from a ~88 Suburban.

I found some info on another site that it appears to be a Standard Motor Products model RY547. Do you think one for a 82-92 Cadillac (RY58) will work? Ebay link below. The connections look the same.

Feel free to post vehicles you've used before in place of the original, and/or any more information.

I'm hoping the only difference is the mounting bracket.

That's because it's an original GM part. Anything in their catalog that starts with "G" is an NOS part.

Why wouldn't you just use a standard $5, 5-pin bosch style relay? This is retrofitting power door locks into a factory manual lock truck, right?

Yeah, but a lot of stuff has been available straight from GM for very good prices. That relay price caught me off guard.

Does each door lock have its own relay or are the both operated by one relay. Passenger side on my truck works driver side doesn't.

I found a wiring diagram of the door lock. I answered my own question.

I ended up getting a 20167608 relay. I haven't installed it in the truck yet, but I havent converted to electric doors yet either. So I have the complete harness out of the truck. It runs off 3 wires. I have tested it and it works fine for me. If you look up RY58 on Amazon you'll see exactly what I have....including the 20167608 part# on it in the 2nd pic. $65 on Amazon.
