I picked up a set of DJM drop spindles second hand and was wondering how to tell if the spindles are the 1" rotor or 1.25" rotor ones. The axle, not including the "shoulder" at the base where it meets the knuckle, is 4.25" long.

Also, from the pictures can anyone tell if they've already been grinded down to clear 15x7 stock wheels?

Any input would be appreciated.

I dont know the measurements for the spindle shaft but is there a part number cast in the spindle?

The only things cast into it are C10, LH/RH, DJM, and a capital L with a circle around it. No part numbers or anything.

Remove your rotor and see if it matches. It will take all of 10 minutes to find out.

Gee, thanks for that very helpful advice. I'm aware that I can pull off the rotor and check but I figured I'd ask here to see if somebody else knew before doing that.

Don't have to be an arse about it...:whymewhyme: Try being a bit more respectful next time when someone is trying to help out. A little courtesy goes a long way.

You *might* be able to tell by looking at the caliper mounting areas and comparing to your current caliper mounting areas. Either way, you're going to have to get out there and look.

Wasn't trying to be an arse, if I was able to go pull off the rotor and check I would, not everybody has their truck with them with tools to do it and a location to do it in. If pulling it off and checking myself was an option it's pretty obvious I wouldn't be asking on here.

It was just the tone of your response. Differently worded response would've made a world of difference.

Let us know what you find out.

I was under the impression all dropped spindles were for the 1.25" rotor.

The 1" rotor was used on the lightest duty C10 trucks possible: manual brakes or the lightest JB3 power brake system, and are therefore somewhat rare.

As a result, it's not usually an issue unless you are very very unlucky.
