Diesel HVAC controls

DO the Diesels run off of vacume like the gassers? I'm putting a cummins in my 86' C30 and wondering how to run the HVAC. I found a Diesel Burb in the yard this weekend and wondered if the controls were different in them? The cummins has a vac pump on it but if I don't need it for the HVAC I would like to eliminate it.

I have an electric cruise off the Dodge but I have no idea how to hook it back up. I don't think the gasser vacum cruise will work on the diesel....
