I've seen a 12v in a 1/2 stepper, looked good but I'm sure it would get real tail happy on you with a little boost. I have a line on a 96' F800 with a 12v and allison... would love to squeeze that under my hood but I don't want to twist my truck around :jester:

LoL...right on.
Seriously though...Dmaxx's are no joke when they are sooped up. I personally would use a long bed stepper though...you hit the go pedal in an insanely powered shorty stepper, and its like launching a model rocket with no tail fins.
as far as exhaust goes....do something different than virtical stacks. maybe two big ass 5" pipes along the bed rails.

As far as cummins goes.
Can they fill up 2 5" or 6" stacks?
And second off, Can they rap up pretty quick?

Also, where do they top out at as far as rpm?

Hahaha ! Yea all you need is 4000 rpm spring some good sticks get a p-pump engine ! There 1000 hp motors if you build them right and it's a pretty simple install ! Not to bad . Couple hard parts like a tranny mount and mounting the intercooler and getting some of your factory gauges working . But simple my self and wild cat has done this swap so if you have any questions just ask you can pick up a p-pump engine for any where 1100 to 1900 depending on where you live and mileage I love my swap !! As far as filling the stacks . You know that's wasted horse power you could be making . Neather of my trucks smoke bad but they'll smoke the tires right off of the trucks .. Just my .02 cents

I always thought a 2wd shortbed stepside would be sweet with a diesel and a set of stacks like the Lil' Red Express had. Pretty much like your pic, but not quite so tall. That's the ONLY time you will ever hear me say I like stacks.

But then again, a set of side pipes would be pretty badass too...

Thats actually how i got the idea in my head. I watched a movie where a guy was drag racing a lil red.

Short of an OE 6.2 Diesel swap, if I were going thru all the headache and work for a conversion, without doubt, Cummins would be my ONLY consideration. What to decide would be 4cyl or 6 cyl and that depends on what I can get for cheap. Usually the 6 is easier and cheaper to find.

How easy is it to turn up a pump on one of those?

Couple hours to turn the power screw. It has a keyed lock you have to pry off without forgetting where stock is. Afc wheel is under the top cap and most people either buy a power pin or grind the stock one. I wouldn't chance weakening the stock screw. I'm referring to the ve pump on the early models. I've never touched a p pump but read it's super easy. If you do this read about it more on the cummins websites so you don't cause a runaway situation and blow your motor/turbo.
