diesel(6.2) swap for gas(366)?

hello all i got a 6.2 diesel in my 1985 k10. The motor is getting tired (360 000km). have a 366 sitting in a c60 with a 5 speed manual. Would it be worth the hassal to convert everything from diesel to gas and adapt the overdrive tranny or should i wait and find another 6.2 or 6.5.

I would get a 6.5 long block and leave it. that 366 will not be very impressive in a pickup.

We put a 67 chevelle 350 in a square that had a 6.2 in it. It made that truck wake up.

Not sure if they are any available but there were some good low milage used 6.5's that could be had cheap. They were a batch of Military motors that were swapped out of a different VIN letter motor. So it's not the better 6.5 since that was the purpose, was to swap to the better 6.5. The old 6.5 wasn't standing up to the toughness the military needed according to what I was told, but it's still good for a daily driver around town and occasionally towing. You know those military guys over in Iraq and Gannystan drive them like they stole them. Which in some cases I know you have to depend on it to get out of dodge, but damn, if I knew my life might depend on my vehicle getting me out of harms way, I wouldn't drive it like I stole it.

BUT, if finances are in the ditch, I woudn't be afraid to do the 366 either. Slow mover, but will pull a house off it's foundation. Also not a very economical motor either. That long strokes sucks down alot of gas with every stroke.

Just my toy so fuel mileage dont mater. Theres a chevy bone yard half hour away. might have to get there some time and see what i can find. if i do go ahead with the 366 will i need a different fly wheel or anything else?
