Dexron VI NP208?

Going to change the fluid. Is it ok to use this instead of DexronIII (replaced DexronII).

Owners manual says DexronII.

Be just fine. I have always used dexron 3 in my NP208. But as far as I am aware dexron 6 is backwards compatible.

Owners manual was printed before all the new flavors of dexron were made. Afaik, all the new versions are backwards compatible. I can't even find any dex 3 in my area any more. Only the current version, 5 or 6, whatever they're up to now.

Well you know us backwoods people, we aint up to date on anything, and we are slow. Lol. We still have dexron 3 around here.

I only know because the last time I went looking for dex3 , I couldn't find any. Shelves and shelves full of dex6 though.

Heck I topped mine off yesterday with DexIII. That bottle had to be from the early 2000s now that I think about it!

Cant tell you what year its from but its on a local parts store shelf.

You will find this stuff in the damndest places! Could not find Type A anywhere around here and one about a year ago day found it at the grocery store of all places! I thought it was obsolete. Just keep your eyes open and it will sneak up on you!

Or just use dexron VI and be done with it!

Many of the big powertrain reman companys ship there rebuilt units with synthetic engine oil 10 30. I seen np208 tcases with gear oil in them with no adverse effects.

Bet it's hell to get it in 4 wheel drive in a cold climate. Lol

Dollar General should sell a Dexron III equivalent in a red quart bottle. The blue quart bottle is Dex VI equivalent according to the label. I know @Arkansas_V8 probably can’t walk down to the end of the driveway without seeing a DG, but I don’t know if you have them up there, Christian.

Yep we have the DGs up here. Along with at least 1 each of the competing dollar stores in the more, let's say, "charming" neighborhoods. Lol.
