Dashpad Referb - Color Selection?

Please don't dye those seatbelts, I'd happily by them as they are. Dyeing a set of common blue belts would probably work better anyway.

Yeah, but any upholsterer can make a new white cover. Ain't nobody making correct style seatbelts, especially in white.

Fair enough. I'll hit em with some Oxy Clean and a magic eraser and see if I can't get them back to white white.

The actual color a little off white. Like a bone type color. GM called it oyster.

Mine had the cover. It's still in my garage actually. But I just enjoy tinkering and messing around. Probably more work than worth but, if you enjoy doing it....do it for the enjoyment.

Ok so I’m thinking not to bad for being 32 years old and zero dollars invested. Just used what I had laying around. I figure it will work just fine for Big Nasty.

what did you use for speaker grills?

I bought some new speakers (which were really tall and huge magnet) and ended up mounting them to the underside of the speaker brackets with some custom made spacers.

They came with two part grills (grill with a retaining ring that mounts on top). I bought some short bolts with retainers and bolted the speaker grills to the dash pad above where the speaker brackets are.

Ended up using a 400w four channel 4ohm amplifier to run dash speakers and 6x9s in the corners. Going to pick up a small amp and 8” sub to mount in a skinny/wide box that will fit behind the seat.

I like what you did with the speaker mesh. I was considering just covering all mine up and doing it similar to how you have done, and then using monster liner as the finishing coat. I was thinking i would do component woofers in the door, near the window switches, using a stack plate, but I might do them in the lower part of the door, since the previous owner had some 2 ways down there, and then mount the tweeters to the A pillar covers. I guess it will depend on if I decide to replace the doors at some point or not.

I was wondering about the grills, because they looked good on there. They have an appearance that makes them look as though they are supposed to be there, if that makes sense. I've seen other attempts that just don't have the same finished look, and kind of stand out as aftermarket.
