Hi all: I have a 1975 K20 and I'm slowing chipping away at the interior. Mine is a custom deluxe with no a/c, so some parts are harder to come by. I've come to accept that I can't replace the dash emblem, as companies just don't seem to make it, but I really want to restore the wooden dash insert if at all possible. As you can see from the pictures it is faded, and essentially all the fake wood pattern has worn off.

I've looked into vinyl stickers but most look terrible. I can't seem to find any company that replaces them for a factory look, nor do I see any how-to's about actually restoring them. Anyone face this? problem?

Unfortunately, no. They don't sell the '75 Custom Deluxe emblem for one, but they also do not sell the non-AC fake-wood dash molding at all. No one does, it seems.

You could probably treat the emblem like a model and carefully restore it pretty good by hand. As for the wood grain could maybe try a vinyl wrap place ?? I've always wondered how to restore my faded wood grain.

The Woodgrain Tailgate insert tape for 1967-1972 works well for restoring the dash insert

Hi all: thanks for the suggestions. Since I had the tiny part under the emblem and photoshop, I created my own vinyl sticker to cover the existing insert with something that should be almost the exact original color. Enjoy!

Looks great! BTW have you tried the Liquid Chrome pens for restoring emblems? They work very well. Paint your background color first, then finish with the chrome.
