Dakota Digital or New Vintage

Looking for opinions or experience with either Dakota Digital or New Vintage instrument cluster replacements. Or another brand if you have had great luck with. Going with analog. They both look good in their respective picture, but real world experience is worth more. Any input is appreciated.

I ordered New Vintage for my truck. All in all, the install was very simple and straight forward. I had a bum tach but they replaced it quickly. Once everything got connected and 2 settings were set, everything works perfect.
For my '51 I have it in the budget for some New Vintage gauges. I don't spend good money after bad.

My only gripes are: I wish the package would come with the LED dimmer switch included. I know parts are expensive and skilled labor isn't cheap, but for about 900 bucks, throw in a dimmer switch.
Secondly, the package said it was a fit for my square. It's not as good a fit as I'd want so I'm customizing the mounting points and console. Plus, you lose Parking Brake and High Beam indicator lights. My Parking Brake light hasn't worked since the first Bush admin so that wasn't a big deal. I did end up getting a high beam indicator off of Amazon and wiring it in.


edit: was going to say something about using male/female connectors but that's really superfluous....

Not sure how much work you want to get into. I have had great luck with Speedhut gauges. You can customize them just about anyway you want.

Indeed!

Dakota Digital makes some nice stuff. I've seen their gauges in person and they are awesome. Just pricey!
