Finally getting around to tearing down the D70 that’ll be going under the wife’s Burb.

What am I looking at here? Need a socket for the spindle nuts (unless I wanna chisel it off) but this is a new one for me, with the round tabs. Only thing like it I’ve found is from Torque King, or do you think a standard 6lug square tab will grab that well enough?

The square 6 should work fine.

Imho, if the square tabs fit in there, it'll do just fine.

Popped the snap ring, pulled the square key out, tapped it loose with a screwdriver. It wasn’t that tight. Now I have the nut to test sockets.

It’s a single nut, not the dual nut/lock washer I’m used to. Never torn down a D70 though, so yeah.

One drum off. Happy to see it looks decent, and hoping the other side looks the same. Progress. The Mrs will be happy. lol

I just went through that a few months ago on my 14 bolt.
Mine were in bad shape, I was able to get them loose with a punch.
I replaced all of them with the square ones that are currently available and fit my socket.
