Cutting Door

I'm going to replace the window motors in the 85 C10. They are completely dead or locked up for sitting over ten years. I'm thinking about cutting a section out of the bottom of the door where the motor sits. The part I'm thinking about cutting out is where the holes are and back in the indented section. I have carpeted lower door panels that would cover them up.

This is the way it was when I took the panel off.

Any thoughts?

Pull the entire assembly out. No need to cut the door.

Carpet over the holes there is fine.

yeah no need to cut the door. it's not that hard to do it the right way. it comes out the hole that's at the top rear of the door behind the door panel. you need to remove the reinforcing bracket that is across the hole. highdesertranger
