Yes sir!
My truck came to us with the Mack dog affixed to the hood, albeit poorly.

The PO drilled a hole in the hood enough for the stud to come through and into the base.
There is a circular mounting register on the bottom of the ornament, that is why it is raised off the hood in the photo above.

Here I have taken a unibit to cut the hole big enough for the register to fit snuggly and let the base flatten to the hood.

Much better and sturdier to boot.
I locked him on there with some red Loctite so it will hopefully make wood bee thieves think twice about taking him.
I also had to form a pair of washers to the inside of the hood ridge for a tight fit.
The washer touching the hood allows the base register to come through and the top washer holds it all together.

Now he stands tall as we motor down the road to what ever awaits us.

Many people have tried to buy him from us, as they all love him.
The answer is always no.
Search Ebay as they are on there quite a bit and not super expensive either....

Ahhhhhh! I love it!

I looked back thru my 5 ton k5 build and saw where I bought my mack bulldog in 2018 off ebay

I think you Peter are the only person who remembers I bought one for my k5, probably lol
At the time I had no idea you already had one!!!!

I still have my mack dog, but it's not even right to put that on the hood of my 502ci c10, lol

I'm gonna have to trade it for another hood emblem now that you've beat me to it.

The wind resistance eats up fuel economy.

People say the same thing about removing factory installed bumper skirts, but I still take mine off anyway, assuming I don't hit a pot hole or pasture crater and tear them off on accident first.

I'll have to go look, I know I got something somewhere. Used to have box with a few.

I have a stock Chevy hood ornament right in my shop...

Never seen anything like that... Is that something an aftermarket shop is producing?

Like the Rubber duck ornaments

got one of them.
mine was used and a little rusty so i sprayed it black to match my truck

couldn't bring myself to start chopping holes in my hood, or have some a-hole walk by and rip it off, so i got a super strong earth magnet, drilled a hole in the bottom and epoxied the mag into it.
i can put it anywhere....even my kid has thrown it on the front of his Firebird a couple times.
