Uhhh, my son or my wife or someone I care about very much will be the one that is sitting in front of that thing. Perhaps you don't care about your passengers. I care about mine.

"Who cares about crashing a square body?" That has got to be the stupidest thing I have ever read on this forum.
Dude- Where is your gas tank. Are you sitting on it? I don't think the cup holder is a major consideration. You go thirsty.

Paint it so the sun won't kill it as fast
I plan on painting, also might put some molding on the inside hole where the cup sits. The person I bought it from offers powder coating, but I choose to paint it with the same color I used to paint the trim in the 85C10.

No. Never seen one exactly like that and I personally would not, could not use that one. When both of my roommates ride with me I would NOT want that thing to add to the trauma if we were to have a wreck. These old trucks have no airbags and the center seat belt is only a lap belt. That thing looks like it would permanently damage flesh if we were to crash.

It does look well made and the craftsman has my respect. It also looks a bit heavy for the ashtray to support.

This was my choice. It is not perfect but it is better than nothing.

You bring up a good point. Just a simple front end collision at not a high rate of speed could really do some damage to the middle passenger's knees. It'd be a real shame if someone lost the use of their legs due to a common fender bender.

I have tried these that go in the ash tray.
Do not recommend. Bend the ash tray. Not really sturdy. Shake a lot.
Recommend a floor mounted one. You can still reach it while driving and they are much more sturdy.

Yup. Same here. I used it for about a week and tossed it in the trash. Garbage concept.

Yes I do. was made for the 73-87 C10's. The guy I bought it from lives in Tennessee, Scott Lawson on marketplace. Made from 1/8" sheet metal. You take the ash tray out and this takes it's place.

You should paint it green and get some color in there. :rotflmao:

I like What you did with the dash
That dash was in terrible shape, tried to follow the dash refurbish thread, I failed horribly. I took some headliner material and glued it to the dash then spray painted it. This is just temporary until I find a better one.
