My question is, will any CS 130 alt work on a 84 C10? Guy at the parts store said there are certain alternators that only work. Something about the mounting holes on the alt to the bracket, and the terminals on the back of alt? I already bought the connector, just need to know what alt to buy.

Thanks

If the output terminal doesn't line up you can 'clock' the CS130. I've never noticed any odd design that required them to make a different housing.

You are saying any CS 130 will work no matter the vehicle?

A CS130 will work on any GM vehicle. You need the proper power adapter to go from the CS130 to your present connector.

You need to use a correctly clocked CS alternator. The only small cased one I know of thats a direct fit space/wise is a 105A unit from a 1988 Olds Firenza with the FI 2.0 motor. The 1.8 is carbed-dont get that one. You’ll also need to swap out the pulleys if keeping your v-belt one.

I’ve used the Firenza ones and the bigger 6” cased 140A ones as well with modded brackets.
